Mission Codename Great Zeal
Our featured wine of the day is the fresh, bright, elegant Uvaggio 2014 Zelo Bianco.
This wine is a blend of 70% Pinot Grigio from Napa, Carneros, 15% Traminer from Napa, Carneros and 15% Moscato Giallo from Lodi, Alta Mesa. These three varietals all come together in a rather surprising - and rather scrumptious - way.
This wine is very aromatic, with fruit and floral notes locked in passionate embrace. Meyer lemon, honeysuckle, creamed honey, orange blossom, white peach and the most subtle touch of white spice.
Fresh, crisp and sunny on the palate, with flavors of Meyer lemon, lemongrass, white tea, white peach juice, orange blossom, lime flower and subtle white spice.
We’ve really come to love Uvaggio’s wines. They deliver a ton of value and they drink well above their price class. Today’s 90 point white blend is the most exciting white that we’ve come across in some time.
If you love fresh, delicious, food-friendly whites, you’ll enjoy today’s steal of a deal on this very highly recommended wine.

What the wine press has to say:
90 points - Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast - “Intensely floral on the nose, this is a blend of 70% Pinot Grigio grown in Carneros, 15% Traminer also grown in Carneros, and 15% Moscato giallo from Lodi, which the producer has previously employed in delightful wines of its own. Lilting and bright, it has substance behind the equal balance of fruit and spice, offering a taste of lemony ginger and pear.”
