Mission Codename Ascending spiral
I have a delightfully delicious, award-winning, 93 point wine for you today.
Today’s Grow Wines 2014 Ruhl Vineyard Mt. Veeder Napa Valley Chardonnay was made by winemaker Lars Bjorkman, who is the Associate Winemaker and Grapegrower for our beloved Saddleback Cellars.
Today’s wine is exciting and invigorating on the nose, with apricot, dried apple, dried honeysuckle flower, river rock, creamed honey, citrus, lemon curd, hazelnut and very subtle white spice.
Impressive, lush and bold on the palate, with Meyer lemon, lemongrass, creamed honey, dried acacia flower, Granny Smith apple, river rock, soft white spice, toasty oak, vanilla and a hint of graphite.
Grow Wines is the creation of Lars and his wife, Molly Hill, who makes wine for Sequoia Grove Winery. This powerhouse team is focused on just a single varietal for their joint project, Chardonnay.
To be more precise, they are focused on making Stunning Chardonnay - which is just what they’ve done with today’s superb wine.
If you love truly exceptional Chardonnay, made by one of the most skilled winemaking teams in the Napa Valley, here is your chance!

Here’s what the wine press has to say:
93 points - Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast - “This small-production, single-vineyard white hails from a site at the southern end of the appellation, close to Carneros. It shines in golden apple, honey graham cracker and a rich texture that impresses from start to finish. A floral element persists and intrigues, a mix of wildflower and fennel.”
