Mission Codename Canterbury Tales
Don’t miss out on this very limited opportunity. This 95-96 point wine is a stunner of a steal!
Hurry friends! Today’s delicious, refreshing Greystone Wines 2016 “Grey’s Peak” Barrel Fermented Sauvignon Blanc will very likely sell out.
There is more coming by cargo ship, but it won’t hit our shores for another month or more. Take advantage of this delightfully delectable 95 point before we run out. We might not get another go at this really wonderful, budget-priced treat.
Greystone Vineyards have been producing wines from their limestone and fossil rich Waipara Valley soils in New Zealand for nearly a decade. Their sloping hillside vineyards are an ideal location for the Sauvignon Blanc that they so lovingly produce.
This wine is wonderfully aromatic, with aromas of lime flower, lemongrass, acacia flower, pineapple, mixed citrus, fresh cut hay and very subtle white spice.
Juicy and fresh on the palate, with flavors of Granny Smith apple, pineapple, pear, white peach, lemon, subtle white spice and dried hay.

Here’s what the wine press has to say:
95 points - Bob Campbell, Master of Wine - “Scented sauvignon blanc with currant bud, nectarine, lime and subtle nutty characters. Smooth-textured wine with character. Great food wine in a bone-dry style, with impressive weight and richness.”
~
94-96 points - Raymond Chan - “Bright, light straw-yellow color with pale golden hues, lighter on the rim. This has a full and voluminous nose with softly packed aromas of ripe white and yellow stonefruits with suggestions of tropical fruit entwined with subtly complexing nuances of herbs, nuts and minerals. The aromatics show ripeness and refinement and unveil green stonefruit, nutty and toasty oak suggestions with aeration.
Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate is poised with fresh, crisp acidity enlivening the soft flavors of white and green stonefruits, herbs, nuts and minerals. The palate has a firm, concentrated core with the bright, zesty acidity lending a thirst-quenching mouthfeel. The wine follows a fine-textured line leading to a long, elegantly concentrated finish of stonefruits and minerals.
This is a bright, lively and refined, subtly rich and concentrated oak-influenced Sauvignon Blanc with white and green stonefruit flavors and nutty, minerally nuances. Serve with seafood and white meat dishes over the next 3+ years.”

92 points - James Suckling - “Slightly jumbled tropical and citrus fruits on the nose with hints of lantana and cut grass. Textured and creamy on the palate, which shows a raft of tropical fruits and defined, stony acidity. Drink now.”
