Higher and Higher

Today’s Harlan neighbor wine earns our very highest recommendation!

Please hurry, dear Operative!

2010 Napa Cabs, from the decade’s best 99 point vintage, are nearly impossible to find. Fortunately for us, Palladian held theirs back until it was just perfect. Today’s Palladian Estate Winery 2010 Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a limited-availability stunner.

Lush aromas waft from the glass to greet you on the nose, with layers of black cherry, raspberry, cassis, licorice, cigar box, cedar, pencil shavings, red currant, baker’s chocolate, sweet spice and a hint of savory dried herbs.

Aromas from the nose are almost completely mirrored on the palate, with flavors of black cherry, blackberry, cassis, chocolate covered cherry, pencil shavings, river rock, licorice, mixed spice, and a hint of black pepper.

The 2010 Napa Cabernet vintage was rated 99 points by Wine Spectator editor in chief, James Laube. Others agree that the 2010 vintage is the best in a decade - and the best we’ve seen since the fabled 2007 vintage.

Today’s spectacular Palladian Estate Winery 2010 Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon was made by our friend, winemaker extraordinaire, David Mahaffey. David’s wines are, in a word, classy. There is a level of refinement and attention to the smallest detail that is usually only found in Napa Cabs costing $300 or more. Indeed, one need look no further than Palladian’s neighbor, Harlan Estate, where Bill Harlan’s Cabernets sell for upwards of $1000 per bottle.

While Harlan makes a dandy Cabernet, David’s wines always deliver the goods… at prices that make them very affordable when compared.

Today’s Palladian Estate Winery 2010 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, which grew up right next door to Harlan, is a very special wine - from a very special vintage - at a very special price.
