The winemaker calls this wine “Anderson Valley in a bottle” and she is absolutely right. Anderson Valley has some of the longest growing seasons in the north coast and the extra hang time really shows through in this delicious and complex wine. There is so much going on here, this is like no other La Crema wine you have ever had before… unless you were lucky enough to have tried the 2012 La Crema Anderson Valley.
Don’t miss out on this wonderful wine. We simply adore it - and know that you will, too.
Here’s what the wine press has to say:
92 points - Jim Gordon, Wine Enthusiast - “A dash of spicy oak suggests nutmeg and cinnamon in the aroma of this well-balanced, rich and flavorful wine. Cherry, red currant and touches of mint and cedar fill out the palate, and the texture is just firm enough, with fine tannins for great balance.”
Deep ruby. Just one look and you know this is a serious pinot noir.
So complex! Plum, cinnamon, nutmeg, violets, and raspberries right off the vines so they are still brambly and wild.
The palate absolutely does the bouquet justice, there are layers upon layers of flavors here. Black cherries give way to vanilla and ferrous minerality. Violets, then coffee finally pave the way for blackberries.
Soft and creamy tannins, the hallmark of Elizabeth Grant-Douglas, round out this fantastic and well balanced Pinot from the “deep end” of Mendocino’s Anderson Valley.
Pork tenderloin with grilled mushrooms. Hanger steak and don’t be shy with the cherry reduction.
