Whether you’re looking for a wine that pairs with nearly everything or you just want an elegant party wine to impress your friends, today’s wine is certain to please and impress.
Our recent tasting panel went nutty bonkers for today’s bright, delicious and food-fabulous Grgich Hills Estate 2016 Grgich Hills Estate Fume Blanc. This wine might just be your favorite white wine this Springtime. Just be sure to stock up for Summer, so it can be your favorite again! White wine lovers rejoice!
Glinting with golden straw hues with gemlike clarity throughout. At first inhalation, this wine and your nose are sure to become best friends. In fact, we could not stop simply inhaling the myriad of lush, pleasing aromas. You’ll experience fresh lemongrass, honeysuckle flowers, Meyer lemon, tangerine peel, subtle white spice and a hint of flinty minerality. Are you ready for your nose to be jealous of your mouth? It’ll be love at first sip, as your first sip sends a cascade of plump, juicy flavors across the palate. Here, you’ll taste flavors of tropical pineapple, yellow mango, and kafir lime. These are followed by lemongrass, flinty minerals, quince and a hint of white spice at the end. After a soft and creamy entry, flavors settle onto the palate - where they stick around for a very long time, eventually releasing all of the fruit flavors, and culminating in a softly white-spiced conclusion. Flexibility is the name of the game with this gem. We’ll be enjoying ours with grilled trout, summer appetizers, fruit and cheese plates, lamb kabobs… The list, like the finish, goes on and on.
The Napa Valley AVA (American Viticultural Area) is located in Napa County, California, United States. Napa Valley is considered one of the foremost wine regions in the world. Wine grapes thrive here, due to the combination of geography, the Mediterranean climate, and geology of the region, which are perfect for wine grape growing. The region was established as a wine-growing region with its first commercial vineyard, which was planted in 1858.
