Long ago, the nascent Agent Rôtie found himself behind a bar, slinging cocktails to fund his studies in philosophy and religion. To boost his check average, he learned about wine - what paired well, what sold better. Slowly, and then all at once, he fell under Bacchus’s spell. Yes, there was the pleasure of the drink, but it was more than that: the history, chemistry, viticulture, ecology, art, food, culture - it was a world unto itself. He was hooked for life.
His mission became clear: to share the wonder of wine with anyone willing to taste. That calling has taken him around the globe - from Chateaux to cellars, befriending winemakers and vignerons, pouring for Barons and Counts in secluded retreats, and occasionally getting doused in fermenting Petit Verdot.
Now based in Napa, Agent Rôtie continues his quest - seeking out rare finds, hidden gems, and new opportunities to bring the beauty of wine to the world.
In his rare moments not hard at work, he enjoys traveling, practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, painting, and - most of all - cooking with his wife and three cats.
