I mean, c’mon! Could there be a better label for us to have on Wine SPIES? And it’s not just the name - everything about Covert Estate goes hard.

Especially our price - WAY over half off - gets you entrance into Fayard’s world of ultra-premium Cabs at a price you simply cannot, and probably will not, see anywhere else. Even when it was recently offered on sale direct from the source at $115, rock bottom. So, seeing it for under $50 brings a tear to our eye.

Famous Frenchman winemaker Julian Fayard makes many great wines, with countless massive scores from 95-100 points. And of all the wines he consults for deliver big time. What do you expect when you combine the aforementioned Fayard of Lafite Rothschild, Smith Haut Lafitte, Lail, Dalla Valle… and many more on this list?

This may be Covert’s entry label, yet it’s anything but entry-level. Inky and dark, concentrated and black as night. It’s exactly in the style Fayard is known for, and I’d be shocked if the pros would give it anything under 95 points. Given that prior vintages have huge scores, it seems warranted.

Loaded front to back and side to side with black, red, and blue fruits. German chocolate cake, espresso, candied violets, and toasty, spiced oak. Supple, soft, and plush on the palate. It’s lower acid and makes a good meal in itself, if you’re into that sort of thing.

Our first Covert won’t last long. And there is not much to go around. At this price? You still here?!
